Snohomish - a great place to Live!

Fall colors in Snohomish, WAJust north of Seattle, Snohomish is located between the sparkling waters of the Puget Sound and the rugged Cascade Mountains. Snohomish County is an ideal place to live and explore the North West.

Snohomish County has some of the most spectacular and beautiful scenery in the country; forest, wildlife sanctuaries and great oportunities for outdoor fun. The proximity to Seattle and a stable economy fueled by Boeing makes it a very appealing place to live and work.

The City of Snohomish is a historical community of about 9,000 people. It is best known for its historical district and antique shops. Located just east of I-5, and near Highway 9 and Highway 2 it offers easy access to the larger cities of Seattle, Everett and Bellevue. It also has a direct route to the Cascade Monuntains at just an hour's drive to the the slopes of Stevens Pass for a day of skiing or snowboarding.

With more than 100 parks that cover 10,000 acres and feature 34 miles of hiking and biking trails, it's easy to get close to nature.

There are tide pools for kids to explore, bays and rivers for fishing, boating and kayaking, and lots of fun places to visit.  Go to Jetty Island just off Everet and watch the wind surfers go with Whidbey Island and the Olympic Peninsula as a backdrop. Area communities are also known for fun festivals, too.

There is always something to do. You are close to nature for a day's hike to nearby lakes and water falls and also close to the city for additional cultural experiences such as museums, theaters, cultural and sport events.

Snohomish County is also home to excellent schools with experienced teachers. Snohomish, even though small in size, has a school system that focuses in keeping class sizes down to maximize children's learning experiences. Last year Snohomish County led the state in new school construction.

Parent participation is also highly visible in the classrooms as well as through the school's PTA programs and the "Watch D.O.G.S Program".
